Colborne/Cramahe
Within Cramahe, Colborne is a village sprinkled with vintage architecture and boasting the widest main street in Northumberland. Colourful murals grace the exterior walls of many buildings while Victoria Square, an attractive park gracing the centre of town, has its own cannon and a small playground under large shade trees.
Don't forget to visit the Colborne Art Gallery, housed in a refurbished 19th century registry office, where you'll see the works of a variety of local artists.
Apples are big business in the Colborne area, and if you visit during the spring you can take part in the community's annual Apple Bossom Tyme Festival. Or visit The Big Apple restaurant just off Highway 401 and sample one of their delicious fruit pies.
