Hastings

The Hub of the Trent, Hastings is located at Lock 18 on the Trent-Severn Waterway and boasts a brand new marina. This attractive village combines a "get away from it all" atmosphere with all the amenities, and is within easy reach of major centres.

Both the Trent River and nearby Rice Lake are a prime destination for anglers and pleasure boaters. Muskie, pickerel, bass and panfish are just some of the fish you'll find here. Whether casting from the banks or trolling the river or lake, the avid angler should find Hastings a fishing "hot spot"!

From Lock 18 in Hastings to Lock 19 in Peterborough, the boater has 60.5 km (73.6 miles) of uninterrupted scenic waterways to explore and enjoy. Sailing, water-skiing, and house-boating are perfect ways to pass warm summer days on the waters around Hastings.

The Northumberland portion of the Trans-Canada Trail begins at Hastings. It heads east with sweeping views of the Trent River, then turns south where you'll encounter marshes, osprey nests and rolling farmland as you approach Campbellford. Hiking, biking, horseback riding and snowmobiling are all encouraged on the trail.
