Corn Maze & Old Trains
An interesting little day trip for youngin's is a trip to the west end of the Municipality of Brighton along County Rd 2 where you'll come upon Cricklewood Farms.
A great fall adventure awaits at a 6-acre corn maze, this year, in the shape of 3 wolves. Picking apples at the end of the hour-long maze rounds off the experience nicely. Thereafter, you could put one of your apples in an apple corer and crank the handle to watch it peel.
Venture into Brighton to visit Memory Junction where owner Ralph Bangay has set up a train museum in the old Brighton train station complete with a steam engine and various cars and a caboose that you can climb into. A thrill to the little ones is being right at the rail line to watch the freight trains go by tooting their horns if you encourage them to do so.
Farther north on County Road 30 think of laying out a lovely picnic lunch at Proctor Park (sheltered) with a hike through the trail just west of the Proctor-Simpson Barn Theatre.
