Boating For Everyone

One of the most delightful ways to enjoy Northumberland is from the deck of a boat. The area is a recreational boaters' paradise that offers countless opportunities for those who love life on the water.

Both Lake Ontario and the picturesque and extensive Trent-Severn Waterway (TSW) provide docking facilities and slips at numerous ports and marinas. The TSW is open for navigation from late May to mid-October and is a haven for all kinds of pleasure craft. You can paddle and camp at any lock on the TSW for a $12 fee (subject to change and for boaters only). You'll find spacious camping and convenient washroom facilities, and canoe landings are at some of the busier locks in the Kawarthas region.

Don't have a boat of your own? Many of Northumberland's marinas offer boat rentals or why not embark on a Rice Lake cruise from Victoria Inn, Gore's Landing (June through Thanksgiving). Give Donna a call at 905 342-3261.

During the winter, you can board an 8-passenger, heated hovercraft that takes you gliding over Rice Lake's ice from Bewdley or Gore's Landing. It makes an exciting outing for family and friends. Call Howard Smith (705 939-1888) to book a ride.
